A coral hind receives attention from a bluestreak cleaner wrasse in this Red Sea photograph by Cobi Hay Yacobi. The orange body and bright blue spots make a striking first impression; the smaller fish gives you another detail to find. Available on stretched matte canvas, the photograph records an interaction between two reef animals.
The coral hind and its smaller visitor
Cephalopholis miniata is a predatory grouper with an orange to reddish body covered in blue spots. It lives on Indo-Pacific reefs, including those of the Red Sea, and feeds on smaller fish and crustaceans. Here, the larger fish is shown at a cleaning station, where another species approaches it for a different reason.
The bluestreak cleaner wrasse, Labroides dimidiatus, belongs to the wrasse family. It has a dark stripe along its body and removes parasites from other fish. Established cleaning stations bring it into contact with larger reef species. For an account of its appearance, habitat and cleaning behavior, visit the Australian Museum’s cleanerfish page.
The cleaner obtains food through this interaction, while its visitor has parasites removed. A coral hind can therefore be both a reef predator and a cleaning client. Knowing those different roles adds context to the two fish in the photograph, beyond the contrast in their sizes and markings.
A photograph of an active cleaning station
This photograph was taken at an active station on a Red Sea reef. Carefully directed lighting and a short exposure preserved the vivid colors, as described in the original account of the image. The orange and blue pattern gives the larger fish a clear presence within the composition.
Look beyond the coral hind to locate the cleaner wrasse. The difference in scale is part of what makes the scene worth viewing closely. The horizontal composition holds the two subjects together, so a wall that allows both a distant view and a closer look can suit this print.

Canvas, inner frame and wrapped edges
The coral hind photograph is printed on matte canvas using non-toxic latex inks. It is stretched over a sustainably sourced pine inner frame, 0.75 in (1.9 cm) deep. The image wraps around the edges. Hanging hardware is included, and the canvas arrives ready to hang.
No decorative outer frame is included. You can display the wrapped canvas as supplied or choose an outer frame to coordinate with other artwork. When planning a group of prints, allow for the total width of the pictures and the gaps between them.

Color for a dining nook or office
The room images place the coral hind canvas beside a round oak table in a kitchen dining nook. The smallest version rests on the table; the larger versions hang on the nearby wall. Use these examples to compare how much wall space each size occupies around a familiar piece of furniture.
In an office, consider a wall beside a meeting table or seating area where visitors can look closely at the fish. Keep the canvas in a shaded, ventilated spot away from direct sunlight. Clean it only with a soft, dry cloth.
