This octopus and diver canvas places broad arms in the foreground and a diver beyond the reef in blue water. Cobi Hay Yacobi’s photograph includes pale sand, surrounding corals and white spots on the octopus’s red-brown arms. It is available in three landscape sizes, with room to follow the scene from the animal nearest the camera to the person farther away.
About the octopus
Octopuses have soft bodies and eight arms lined with suckers. The arms help them crawl along the seabed and explore objects. They can also propel themselves through the water by expelling it through a siphon. These are general octopus features; this photograph is presented without a species identification.
The skin can change color and texture, helping an octopus blend into its surroundings. Pigment cells contribute to color changes, while small projections alter the surface texture. The National Aquarium’s introduction to octopuses explains how these abilities work. The photograph records the brown tones and white markings visible at this moment.
Two viewpoints in one diver canvas
The octopus is the large subject at the front of the image, with its arms spread across pale sand among corals. Behind it, the diver appears in the blue water beyond the reef. The light seabed, warmer body colors and blue background create distinct areas to look at within the wide composition.
This diver canvas gives you both a close animal study and a broader underwater setting. Follow the arms first, then look into the background to find the diver. The accompanying account below identifies the dive buddy and describes what he was photographing.
Photographed in: the Red Sea

Octopuses and Friends
In the background, Elad, my dive buddy, is photographing another octopus. We divers always dive in pairs, so I figured the octopus I photographed deserved a buddy too. Octopuses don’t actually dive with buddies, but why should I be the only one with good company? 😉
Ready to hang on stretched canvas
Your diver canvas is printed on matte canvas with non-toxic latex inks. An inner wooden frame of sustainably sourced pine supports the fabric, with a depth of 0.75 in (1.9 cm). The photograph wraps around the edges. Hanging hardware is included, and the canvas arrives ready to hang.
No decorative outer frame is included. You can keep the wrapped edges visible or select an outer frame separately to suit your room. The internal support is already fitted, so the product is a stretched canvas.

An entryway, bedroom or restaurant wall
The smallest diver canvas is shown above a white entryway console with a key bowl, sunglasses and a vase. The medium size appears above a child’s bedroom dresser with a teddy bear, books and a blue lamp. The largest is displayed over a restaurant banquette, with cups and a water carafe on a round table.
For a home office, consider a wall where you can see the full composition from your chair. The animal and the diver reward different viewing distances. A paper template in the chosen dimensions can help you compare the print with your desk, shelving and nearby lighting.
