Chromodoris quadricolor brings stripes, yellow coloring and a vivid red sponge together in this vertical underwater photograph. Cobi Hay Yacobi photographed the nudibranch in the Red Sea. The canvas gives a small marine animal space on your wall, with three portrait sizes to consider for a bedroom, study or living room.
About Chromodoris quadricolor
This animal is a nudibranch: a marine gastropod mollusk whose adult form has no external shell. The plume on its back is a group of gills used for breathing. We call this striped nudibranch the “pajama slug.” The nickname draws attention to the pattern, while the gills reveal something about how this animal lives.
The species occurs in the western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea. It feeds on sponges. Although red sponges are familiar settings for photographs of this nudibranch, feeding on dark sponges has also been documented. The Australian Museum’s Sea Slug Forum species account discusses its markings and feeding observations.
Stripes against a red background
In this Chromodoris quadricolor photograph, the animal’s black and white stripes contrast with yellow coloring and the red sponge behind it. The gill plume adds another shape to look for. The photograph concentrates on the animal and the surface beneath it, bringing attention to details that could occupy only a small part of a wider reef view.
The portrait format offers a way to display those details on a relatively narrow wall. From a distance, you see the red and the striped form together. A closer view lets you follow the pattern and pick out the gills. Consider a position where you can approach the canvas as well as see it across the room.

Canvas and construction
Your Chromodoris quadricolor print is made on matte canvas using non-toxic latex inks. The canvas is stretched over an inner wooden frame of sustainably sourced pine, 0.75 in (1.9 cm) deep. The photograph wraps around the edges, and hanging hardware is included. It arrives ready to hang.
The print has no decorative outer frame. Its internal wooden support is already part of the construction. You can keep the wrapped edges visible or add an outer frame of your choice, allowing for its extra dimensions when you measure the intended position.

Beside a bed or a desk
The room images show a Chromodoris quadricolor canvas beside an oak bedside table. The small print leans on the table, while the medium and large versions hang above it. This arrangement lets you compare a compact display with a taller wall feature. In a study, a similar space beside a bookcase could work.
