Co’s Nudibranch Canvas Print

This nudibranch canvas brings the folded edges and intricate markings of Co’s nudibranch into view, surrounded by corals in Palau. Cobi Hay Yacobi’s photograph puts a small marine animal at the center of a square composition. Choose between two sizes for a compact wall, a study or a group of ocean photographs.

The animal in your nudibranch canvas

Co’s nudibranch, Goniobranchus coi, is a marine mollusk in the family Chromodorididae. It occurs in the tropical western Pacific and feeds on sponges. Older references may call it Chromodoris coi. Those names refer to the same species, whose patterned mantle gives it a recognizable outline.

The mantle is the broad covering around the body. In this species, wavy dark and pale lines separate different areas of color, with a purple line at the margin. Its gills and rhinophores can range from translucent white to pale yellow or brown. The species account for Goniobranchus coi describes its markings, distribution and sponge diet.

A closer look at the photograph

Cream folds curl around an orange central area, edged with a dark, winding line. Two finely ridged projections rise near the front of the animal. Yellow and brown corals fill much of the surrounding space, while softer detail in the foreground separates the nearby reef from the sharper subject.

The nudibranch canvas offers a different view at each distance. Across the room, the pale body and dark border form a compact shape. Nearby, you can follow the ridges and folds around that shape. The image gives the animal room within its coral surroundings, with texture extending beyond the main subject rather than an empty background.

Stretched matte canvas, ready to hang

Your nudibranch canvas is printed with non-toxic latex inks on matte canvas. The fabric is stretched over an inner frame of sustainably sourced pine, 0.75 in (1.9 cm) deep. The photograph wraps around the edges. Hanging hardware is included, and the canvas arrives ready to hang without a decorative outer frame.

The inner wooden frame supports the fabric, so this is a stretched print rather than a loose sheet of canvas. You can display the wrapped edges as supplied. If an outer frame would help it sit alongside existing artwork, choose that separately to match the arrangement you have in mind.

Two square sizes and prices

• 12 × 12 in (30 × 30 cm) — $79 USD
• 16 × 16 in (41 × 41 cm) — $99 USD

Each size may vary by about 3 mm (1/8 in). To choose your nudibranch canvas, mark out a square of the selected size on the wall. Check it from your chair as well as the doorway. A square print needs the same clearance in both directions. For a different size, contact us.

A square accent for a study or living room

The display images show this nudibranch canvas on an easel and hanging against a white wall. Those examples suggest two ways to give the image its own space: as a small standalone display or as part of a wall arrangement. For a study, consider a position where the delicate markings remain visible from your usual seat.

Cream, warm brown and muted yellow offer useful color references for nearby furnishings. Keep the print’s square proportions in mind when placing it next to a taller photograph. Leaving space between them lets each outline remain clear. Measure the entire arrangement, including the gaps, before choosing a size.
